Detective Chris Brooks is the founder and lead investigator of Brooks Detective Agency, a Sarasota, Florida–based private investigation firm with over 25 years of experience.
He is a retired Chief of Police and nationally recognized investigator, Chris has worked with a broad range of clients — from everyday individuals and business owners to those wrongfully accused of crimes.
He is also trusted by high-net-worth families, celebrities, and professional athletes who rely on his discretion, integrity, and results.
He began his law enforcement career in 2003, serving in both the Patrol and Detective Divisions before ultimately being appointed Chief of Police.
During his career, Chris worked closely with major federal agencies including the ATF, DEA, FBI, and U.S. Secret Service.
In 2016, his work was formally recognized for its significant contributions to the United States Secret Service and Vice President Mike Pence.
Chris also holds advanced certifications in polygraph examination, crime scene analysis, interview and interrogation techniques, and undercover operations.
Brooks Detective Agency is a Florida Justice Administrative Commission (JAC)–approved Due Process Vendor Investigator for the 12th Judicial Circuit, trusted to provide expert, court-approved, state-funded criminal defense investigations across the 6th, 12th, 13th, and 20th Judicial Circuits.
