The cost of hiring a private investigator depends on the type of case, urgency, number of investigators, locations involved, travel, reporting requirements, and overall scope of work.
Brooks Detective Agency provides clear fee information before work begins, and a signed service agreement is required for investigative services.
Our fees are based on the specific nature of each assignment. Because every matter differs in scope, complexity, and time requirements, pricing may vary depending on the circumstances involved.

A signed service agreement is required before investigative services begin.
For general investigations and surveillance matters, an initial $1,500 nonrefundable retainer is required. Retainer funds are applied toward investigative services, case-related reporting, and administrative time.
Our standard rate is $125 per hour, per investigator.
Surveillance Services: Surveillance assignments are subject to a minimum of four (4) consecutive hours per day, unless otherwise stated in the service agreement.
Terms of Service
Due to the sensitive nature of investigative work and the immediate allocation of high-level resources, specialized equipment, and man-hours:

Non-Refundable Policy: All retainers and flat-fee payments are considered fully earned upon receipt.

Commitment of Resources: Once a retainer is paid, those hours are dedicated exclusively to your case, and we may decline other assignments to ensure your investigation receives priority.

Credit for Future Use: While we do not offer refunds, any unused hours from a retainer remain on file as a credit and may be applied toward future investigative services.
