Recently, I had the opportunity to sit down with none other than Cal Raleigh, the All-Star catcher for the Seattle Mariners known for his clutch hitting and leadership behind the plate, along with Logan Gilbert, the Mariners’ talented starting pitcher with a growing reputation for dominating on the mound.

But could these elite athletes handle the pressure of my polygraph chair?

Spoiler alert: not quite as well as they handle a fastball.

When I got the call to film a polygraph skit with the Seattle Mariners, I’ll be honest—I had no idea who Cal Raleigh or Logan Gilbert were.

I walked in thinking they were just a couple of young guys on the roster. Truth is, I don’t follow baseball… or really any sports for that matter. ⚾️🤷‍♂️

But after spending just a short time with them, everything changed.

These guys weren’t just professional athletes—they were down-to-earth, hilarious, and genuinely fun to be around. I left that shoot not just impressed, but fully converted. I’m now a Seattle Mariners fan for life.

And I’m glad I became one—because Cal Raleigh isn’t just another player. The guy is making history. As of mid-2025, Cal tied Ken Griffey Jr. for the most home runs before the All-Star break with 35 homers, and he became the fastest player in Mariners history to match Ichiro Suzuki’s iconic 117 home run total—doing it in just five seasons. That’s no small feat. 🏆🔥

Logan Gilbert, on the other hand, is the kind of pitcher who keeps batters guessing and fans watching. With his height, focus, and command on the mound, it’s no surprise he’s quickly become one of the most respected starters in the league.

Seeing their personalities shine through during the polygraph session—joking, reacting, sweating a little when the questions hit—gave me a whole new appreciation for what these guys do on and off the field. They were great sports about the whole thing, and honestly, they made my job easy.
